Many of us might think use of social media is a waste of time and resources, but have you ever thought of its financial opportunities? 
The more you get connected the more you get access to wider information and mass audience. It allows us to maintain contact for free over the internet. Use of Google talk to chat and make calls, Facebook to post photos for our friends to see,twitter to post short news content, YouTube for uploading videos online. Blogs allows us to express ourselves online and to get views from from our fellow bloggers and readers.
Social media has brought a lot of advertisements popping from the screen or on side bars whenever we are on these sites. It has become a huge mode of advertising for companies.
LinkedIn however on the other side has been a great resource as users post their resumes and experiences on their profile. For employers looking for resources, this could be the appropriate site to get. The question is, how truthful are these information?
Celebrities find it more easier to reach fans through social media. They update their profiles oftentimes to keep fans updated of all the events and happenings and also post photographs of their latest concerts. They also use it to clear the air whenever we hear speculations a bout them. 
Lady Gaga has broken the record of up to 21M followers on twitter. This has made the world of social media go wild. CNN Pierce Morgan was fighting for 2M followers and he made it.
Bloggers have taught readers a lot of tips and advises both financially, politically and socially.
Kony2012 was one of the powerful video sharing which went viral attracting more than 70M viewers according to Forbes, and still counting.
