The journey through

Business is one venture whereby one has to really think and work out all the possible out come, both positive and negative, before venturing into it.

Tom and I decided to get into a website designing and hosting way back in the year 2010. since he had been  working for one big company in Nairobi, he had all the expertise needed to carry on with our business. we looked through it keenly and we were ready to start everything . 

He developed and designed a website which was really a start of the art design using all the latest creativity and ideas we could think of. It was up and working . It did not give us much of  hustle. We did the hosting for ourselves and bought our serves from one company in states.

The next challenge was to get the market. We come with a sum of money which was reasonable enough to keep us going through our business. 

Tom thought of quitting his job for the sake of our business and devoted himself to monitoring the website and even look for other business opportunities. I was not for the idea that he should quit his job but he did it anyway. He started marketing our website online since it was an online business anyway and he worked long hours, seeking for new business entry and very many other options.

Google gave us the opportunity and we took it. Paid for our website and we started monitoring how we were doing with our product. It was affordable for sometimes, few couple of months and kept us going online to publicize our brand. Search Engine Optimization was what we were targeting to make us know locally and a broad and of course we did it. We rose according to Google rankings and we wanted to beat all our competitors by all means and it was coming. 

SEOs involves a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine's own server, where a another program know as indexer, extracts various information about the page, such as the words and where they are located.

The website was registered under the Kenyan Government to secure our niche, no one else would use our brand name else where. We managed to get a few clients to design and host their websites. Our dream was coming to reality.

Since we did everything online, we were lucky to host some websites from outside the country, we were spreading our wings really fast. The income could not pay us the bills and we had to relocate to our neighboring country and open an office there but it was still a challenge advertising ourselves on the newspapers once a week. It was really expensive getting a space on a paper.

After a while we were hit. The website was down. Someone hacked our account and were worked on it as fast as we can and up we were again. We ran out of finances and supporting ourselves became a challenge though i was working but ma friend, Tom, needed my support.Our website was a gain brought down last year and we have not had a chance to bring up running because we are still weighing our options on whether to go back to business or not.
